This morning there is a Regulator Meet and Greet Breakfast. Members of the industry can meet with their regulators face-to-face. No other conference offers such access to regulators as the NMLS Conference.
Next up will be Charles Cooper, Banking Commissioner of the Texas Department of Banking, and Treasurer of the Conference of State Bank Supervisors. Commissioner Cooper will give an overview of state regulator priorities and observations.
Then Kelly Cochran, Assistant Director of Regulations at the CFPB, and Shauna Shields, Assistant Attorney General and General Counsel of the Iowa Division of Banking, will give an update on CFPB rules, including servicing, loan originator compensation, loan originator qualifications, and TILA-RESPA integration and appraisals.
We’ll then hear from Roger Tutterow, Professor of Economics at Mercer University, during lunch before we split into the afternoon breakout sessions.
Stay tuned for more interviews with regulators, members of industry, and services providers throughout the day!
